John B. Amos Cancer Center completes $11M project to provide higher-quality, safer care for cancer patients

The John B. Amos Cancer Center in Columbus, Georgia has completed an $11 million dollar equipment replacement project that will help provide higher-quality and safer care for cancer patients. The Piedmont Columbus Regional Foundation funded the purchase of three Varian Truebeam linear accelerators, AI-assisted Siemens CT scanner and Brainlab ExacTrac Dynamic six-degree robotic system. The equipment replacement project dates back to 2021. The linear accelerators are state of the art, allowing staff to provide the most advanced and precise radiation treatment. “This project would not have been possible without philanthropy,” said Piedmont Columbus Regional Foundation Executive Director Aline Lasseter in a press release. “We are so grateful for the outpouring of generous community support of cancer care over the years.
