Dr. Roland Matthews is chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Morehouse School of Medicine, and a gynecologic oncologist and attending physician at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Dr. Matthews is an executive committee member of the State University of New York Stony Brook School of Medicine (SUNY) Health Science Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he received his Doctor of Medicine. He completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellowship at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. He is board-certified in Gynecologic Oncology. Dr. Matthews is Georgia Cancer Coalition (GCC) Distinguished Cancer Scholar, investigating the role of prohibitin in cervical cancer.
